About

Franca is a Potts Point brasserie at Shop 2, 81 Macleay Street. Its current menu combines classical French technique with flavours from coastal Europe, including Spain, Italy, North Africa and the Levant. It is designed around seasonal food, shared plates and a table-friendly wine selection.

Executive Chef Jose Saulog leads the kitchen. The dining room draws on a Southern European palette of greens, warm neutrals and citrus accents. Food, drinks, wine and set menus are available through the restaurant's official website.

Franca offers online reservations, gift vouchers, semi-private events and exclusive venue hire. Its website currently advertises weekend lunch from noon and Wednesday-to-Sunday dinner from 5pm. Some external coverage mentions a temporary closure for building works, so confirm trading and availability directly before travelling.

Honestly the food was great atmosphere and music were good. But was very packed and loud for my liking. The steak was gorgeous and just melted in my mouth, the fries were so good and crispy which I love and not last but least the martini’s were heavenly. The cauliflower wasn’t bad but was a bit cold,we did also wait an hour for the steaks to arrive. The leek was sweet and nice but just gets stuck all in your teeth which I found quite hard to get out. Other than that overall 8.5 stars out of 10. Perfect for date night, girls night out,or just going out for drinks and dinner!

Absolutely amazing experience last night! The food was exceptional — every dish was full of flavour and beautifully done. Service was just as incredible, special mention to Ant, who was so attentive, warm and genuinely lovely. He really made the night extra special and is a huge asset to the restaurant. They were also so accommodating with our halal requirements, which we really appreciated. Can’t wait to come back!

It was the first time visiting and had a mixed experience overall. The presentation across the dishes was elegant and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. However, in terms of flavour, the dishes felt generally quite standard, and none particularly stood out or left a lasting impression. The passionfruit soufflé was technically well executed. It rose beautifully, was visually impressive, and held its structure very well even after sitting for a while during photos and eating, which reflects good technique and stability. However, the passionfruit flavour was extremely sour — to the point where it resembled the sharpness of lemon rather than a balanced dessert. We wondered whether the passionfruit purée ratio may have been off, as the acidity dominated the overall flavour. We understand that passionfruit is naturally sour and we do enjoy sour flavours, but the soufflé was extremely acidic. Eaten with the ice cream on top, it still fine, but when the ice cream was finished, the rest of the soufflé was overwhelmingly sour, almost to the point where it felt difficult to enjoy the soufflé on its own. Atmosphere was warm and professional. This is simply our personal experience, and we hope the feedback is helpful.

Absolutely loved dining at Franca, it was a slice of Paris in sydney, the venue was beautiful and we had a nice table by the window. The menu had a wide selection and we decided on a few starters, two mains and two desserts to share. I loved the doppio ravioli and the chicken liver parfait. We had the sirloin with sides mash, fries and vegetables which was cooked to perfection and for desert the passionfruit soufflé and a banana one. Service was impeccable, our waiter, Ant made sure we knew everything about the menu, all the dishes were served on time and he gave good drink suggestions and made sure we had a great night. Looking forward to more evenings here, would definitely recommend for birthdays, dates and a catch up with the girls. I loved that the lighting was nice and soft and we also made an effort to dress up when we went, great experience.

We had a beautiful dinner at Franca Brasserie. Everything was perfectly executed, right on point from start to finish. The fish tartare was absolutely amazing, the sides were sublime, and the meat was cooked to perfection. A special shout-out to the service — and especially to Noemi, who took the time to walk us through the new menu and made us feel like truly special guests throughout the evening. Highly recommend ✨
